1. Is a metal roof noisy?
When insulated, a metal roof is generally no noisier than a tiled roof.
2. How long should the roof last?
A properly installed roof should last in excess of the manufacturer’s warranty when installed correctly.
3. What will the metal roof look like?
Metal roofs look cleaner and sharper for a longer period of time than most other products available. Please see roofing colours, roofing profiles and our photo gallery as different roofs can create different effects.
4. Will hail ruin my roof?
While hail may damage your roof, it will not penetrate the roof even in severe storm conditions, as proven in past thunderstorms. Tiles smash and let water in, resulting in destruction inside your house. A metal roof is more protective of your property.
5. Is metal cheaper than tiles?
Over the lifetime of your property, a metal roof is more cost-effective. Traditional roofs have a shorter lifespan and are more affected by the elements. Metal roofs are also more energy efficient.
6. How long does it take to put a roof on and will we have to move out?
A re-roof of an average house usually takes 3-4 days whereas a new roof on the average house usually takes 2-3 days. You will not have to move out as we do the project in stages and take precautions to protect your property from inclement weather at the end of each day.
7. There is a small amount of rust in one section of my roof.Is it better to repair or replace my roof?
This will depend upon how much rust there is and where it is forming. While it is cheaper to replace sections of a roof, sometimes the appearance of rust indicates that the rest of the roofing or guttering is in imminent need of complete replacement. However, this is not always the case and we may be able to patch or replace certain sections. Contact us for advice regarding your own unique situation.
